Jonathan Blum

Cisneros Media Distribution (CMD), a global distributor of entertainment content, today announced the U.S. premiere of the telenovela “Amor Secreto” [Secret Love] on Estrella TV, the largest privately held, minority‐owned Spanish‐language broadcaster in the United States.  Starring Miguel de Leon, Alejandra Sandoval, Juan Carlos Garcia, and Alexandra Braun, this adaptation by Cesar Sierra of the successful Venezuelan novela “Ines Duarte, Secretary” debuts on Monday, November 30th, at 3:00 PM Eastern / 2:00 PM Central.

“We are really thrilled about the premiere of ‘Amor Secreto’ in the United States on Estrella TV,” stated Jonathan Blum, President of Cisneros Media.  “As a leading independent producer of Hispanic content we have begun to service a number of networks in the U.S. market with productions designed to meet the ever‐changing needs of an increasingly demanding and versatile audience, for instance ‘Amor Secreto’ incorporates a lot of digital material that can be enjoyed on Estrella TV’s non‐linear platforms.”

Since its founding in 1999, Estrella TV has become one of the highest rated Spanish‐language broadcasters in the United States.  Based in Burbank, California, the Hispanic network covers the nation and reaches more than 80% of U.S. Hispanic households.

“We are pleased to be working with Cisneros Media Distribution, and we are looking forward to the U.S. premiere of ‘Amor Secreto,’ exclusively on Estrella TV,” said Lenard Liberman, CEO of Estrella TV and its parent company Liberman Broadcasting, Inc. (LBI Media).

“Amor Secreto” presents the story of Irene (Alejandra Sandoval), a perfect secretary: intelligent, efficient, and completely reliable.   But in spite of her great professional skills, Irene is an introverted young woman, convinced men just don’t find her attractive.  Eventually, and almost without realizing it, Irene falls for her boss Leonardo Ferrandiz (Miguel de Leon), a wealthy widower raising five children and who’s too busy to notice how his secretary feels about him.

With her loyalty and dedication, little by little Irene gains the love of the millionaire, and the respect and affection for his children.    And, on the other hand, she begins to live experiences that lead her to become a different woman, confident and assertive, and capable of charming Leonardo.  But just when it seems that Irene is about to achieve all of her dreams, the conspiracies of an unscrupulous woman (Alexandra Braun) make her lose it all, from her credibility to her freedom.    Will Irene be able to rebound, and regain the love and admiration of those so special to her?
