MIPCOM 2015 took place at the start of the month. It is a renowned international entertainment industry event which happens in Cannes, France. It is where media leaders have the opportunity to screen their productions for content purchasers and distributors.
Like every year, Cisneros Media performed outstandingly. It screened productions such as the new telenovela, “Entre Tu Amor y Mi Amor,” with Rosmery Marval and Daniel Elbittar in the lead roles. XRC (Xtreme Reality Clips) was recognized as a world hit thanks to its sale to prominent screens around the world. We also had the opportunity to screen “Miss V, Tras Bastidores” and the “Leyendas” package, which is a compilation of Cisneros’ most emblematic telenovela classics.
During the festival, we announced some important contracts that we have signed. One of these is the coproduction between Cisneros Media Distribution and Getty Images Latin America, which will constitute a new creative unit called MOBIUS.LAB Productions. It will be devoted exclusively to creating and producing innovative content and formats of varying lengths, based on an impressive catalogue of more than 80 million images and illustrations, more than 50,000 hours of audiovisual film (including 4K videos) and an extensive music library of Getty Images. We also signed a distribution agreement with Telefe from Argentina to be their official distributors in the African market. Similarly, we will have the opportunity to represent Estrella TV’s catalogue around the world. We signed a collaboration agreement with “The Kitchen” dubbing company, who will be our exclusive sales and promotions agent around the world for dubbing in Latin American Spanish. Cisneros Media will be the exclusive supplier of voices, drawing on its great cast of actors and actresses who are contracted with our affiliated production companies in Venezuela.
We are extremely proud of everything we have achieved at this year’s MIPCOM. Once again, we have proven that Cisneros is a benchmark for Spanish language content.
