We are now on the homestretch of 2015 and if this year has given us anything, it’s been excellent film productions. It has brought returns and finales of famous sagas and remakes of productions from yesteryear. As always around this time of the year, predictions have started to float around about which productions will make a clean sweep with the coveted Oscar Award nominations.
Here is a list of the favorites on everybody’s lips:
1.- The Revenant
Director: Alejandro González Iñárritu (Birdman)
Protagonists: Leonardo DiCaprio and Tom Hardy
2.- Spotlight
Director: Thomas McCarthy (Up)
Protagonists: Mark Ruffalo, Michael Keaton and Rachel McAdams
3.- Bridge of Spies
Director: Steven Spielberg (War Horse)
Protagonists: Tom Hanks and Amy Ryan
4.- Brooklyn
Director: John Crowley
Protagonists: Julie Walters and Soarise Ronan
5.- Steve Jobs
Director: Danny Boyle (Slumdog Millionaire)
Protagonists: Michael Fassbender and Kate Winslet
While media critics such as Variety do agree on these (though not necessarily in that order) we just couldn’t leave out productions such as: Room, Joy, The Danish Girl and The Hateful Eight, which could bring the audience a few surprises.
