Released in March 2015, Periscope has arrived to revolutionize the way video streaming is done on the internet. This app was developed by Twitter and while it is not a pioneer in its area (its competitors include Merrkat) it definitely has some unique functions.

What is it exactly? Periscope is a live streaming tool. That is, it allows us to transmit things we are doing or seeing live to our followers, with the possibility of real time interaction through chat. Not only that, these videos can also be shared through our Twitter accounts and those of our followers. If for some reason they could not watch it in real time, they can watch it later.

While this network is still relatively new and unknown, I think it is a very important step forward for traditional services as we will be able to broadcast all kinds of content in real time just by using our cell phones.
