It is incredible how technology can simplify all aspects of our lives in such a significant way. A clear example is what modern architecture has achieved in our homes. We have all heard of intelligent houses where lighting, temperature and electricity consumption of appliances are controlled from a single console. However, particularly in large cities where it is much more comfortable and practical to live in an apartment, there is still the persisting problem of the reduced amount of space we have to work with in order to make our homes as modern as possible.

In response to this, Astro, a company specializing in home automation, has created Twist, a smart light bulb that has been designed to simultaneously adapt the lighting in our home to suit different environments while also operating as a speaker connected through our WiFi network.

This is the way it works: all you have to do is connect the light bulb in your preferred spot (it can be more than one) and download any Air Play application. Then you synchronize it with your intelligent light bulb. This way, the music will follow you around the house where you have installed the devices, without having to use any additional speakers or gadgets.

Another advantage of this bulb is that it does not require any special installations. It can be placed in any socket, either in the ceiling or in a lamp. Its release is planned for the start of next year but you can already place an order from the company’s website.

I think this device could become a very useful tool because as well as being both a durable light bulb and speaker, it has a guarantee of 15 years. It is also an excellent way of saving space.
